The following resources are helpful in learning about and carrying out professional development. On a regular basis, e-Learning Kentucky, a component of KY Virtual Schools, provides online PD courses and training.  In addition, online Communities of Practice can be provided.

e-Learning Kentucky online PD courses are high quality, facilitated and interactive accessible anywhere, anytime, anyplace via an Internet-connected computer providing opportunities to learn and share best practices and resources eligible for up to 24 hours EILA or PD credit free to KY public school educators.

KyEducators
KyEducators offers online courses ranging in length and complexity depending upon purpose. Some can be used as professional development for local school districts, and several can even be used in conjunction with college or university coursework.

Effective Instructional Leadership
KRS 156.101 (1) is established to "encourage and require the maintenance and development of effective instructional leadership in the public schools of the Commonwealth and to recognize that principals with the assistance of assistant principals, supervisors of instruction, guidance counselors, and directors of special education have the primary responsibility for instructional leadership in the schools to which they are assigned."
