The Kentucky Education Technology Systems (KETS) is a direct result of the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990. Within the work of KETS, a Master Plan was developed along with the KETS Implementation Plan that guides our continuing work. This section will provide current and historical information on the KETS project as well as intensive data and information on technology projects and services.

  Communications - Webcasts, News Bulletins & Other Resources
Throughout the year the Office of Education Technology (OET) staff offer training and informational sessions on technology trends, issues and best practices. For example, OET hosts three separate monthly webcasts to reach specific target different audiences.  Some of these resources can be found here.


  Financial Management System
MUNIS is the financial software package used in all 174 Kentucky School Districts. Instructions and explanations to allow for consistent reporting of required school district financial information are provided.  There are also links to other associated sources.   Funding
Funding for education technology is made available to districts from state (KETS Offers of Assistance) and federal sources (E-Rate and No Child Left Behind). Schools can use the Implementation Plan as a tool to develop and maintain a district technology plan and budget, using state and federal technology funds.


  KETS Engineer Program
The field technology leaders of the Office of Education Technology, KETS  Engineers provide services that support the instructional, administrative, and planning efforts for school districts through the direct face to face work with District Technology Coordinators and district technical staff.

  Technology Readiness Survey
The Kentucky Technology Readiness Survey provides a snapshot of  technology infrastructures throughout Kentucky schools and districts.  Information represents data gathered from schools and districts throughout Kentucky as of December each year.
