State and national professional organizations relating to career and technical education.

Association for Career and Technical Education
ACTE is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers.  Its mission is to provide educational leadership in developing a competitive workforce.  Members include teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, university professors, state/local employees and students at middle, secondary, and postsecondary educational levels.    

 

Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education

KACTE is an affiliate of Association for Career and Technical Education.  ACTE is a national association dedicated to the advancement of career and technical education.  The purposes of KACTE are to:

 

Advance the ideals and standards of career and technical education in Kentucky;      

Promote public awareness of the value of career and technical education as an integral part of the total program of education and solicit public support for these programs;

Provide a means whereby all persons engaged in career and technical education may work together in solving problems of mutual interest and concerns;

Provide a body through which its members may promote their own professional development;

Provide a means by which its members may work collectively with the ACTE on educational problems of local, state, and national concern; and

Maintain a close working liaison with other Kentucky professional educational associations.   

 

Kentucky Association of Career and Technical Education Special Needs Personnel
KACTE-SNP is a professional organization in career and technical education and an affiliate of Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) and KACTE through the Division of Special Needs.
